New Defence Chief Promises to End Boko Haram Attacks by April

The newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Marshal Alex Badeh, has promised to end the Boko Haram insurgency before April this year.

He made the pledge at the ceremony to take over from the former CDS, Vice Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim at the Defence headquarters in Abuja yesterday.
He said the military will not go back to the Senate to beg and lobby for the extension of the state of emergency currently on in certain states in the North.

He argued that if the military did its work cohesively, the insurgency can be finished off in no time.

He promised to do his best to guide the armed forces of Nigeria toward achieving the desired successes, arguing that unity of command is the preferred method of achieving unity of effect and effort by our military forces.
