Boko Haram Suspect Admits To Apo Meetings

A Boko Haram suspect has said that members of the sect were meeting in the uncompleted building in Apo, Abuja, where soldiers raided and killed eight people in September 2013.

Mohammed Adamu, made the confession on Tuesday before a panel of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) investigating the alleged extra judicial killings. He also revealed that the members met three times a week, between 8.00 pm and 11.00 pm daily.

Mr. Adamu further revealed that the sect was planning to attack government institutions in Abuja before they were arrested.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission of NHRC, Professor Bem Angwe, afterwards said “the commission will conclude its public hearing at the end of the month and will make its findings public.”
