Abuja Indigenes Remain Adamant on Land Policy

Indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the auspices of the Original Inhabitants Development Association of Abuja (OIDA), have said the FCT natives remain adamant on the issues of land swap, centenary city development, aerotropolis project and other land policies of the federal government that are being pursued by FCT Administration.

President of OIDA, Pastor Danladi Jeji, made the statement at the celebration of 2nd FCT Heritage Day in Gwagwalada recently. He said the natives want the involvement of the indigenes in policy formulation to avert problem with allottees.

Pastor Jeji expressed displeasure over the reports submitted by some of the committees set up by the FCTA, saying they were not in favour of the natives.

Also speaking at the event, former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr. Aboki Zhawa, noted that most of the views put forward by the association were significant because FCT indigenes have been marginalized.
