The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, has approved the immediate promotion of 2,201 staff of the FCT Administration (FCTA).
In a statement issued on Wednesday
in Abuja by his press secretary Muhammad Sule, the minister stated that
the promotion was necessary to motivate staff and increase their
productivity.
“This
gesture of the government will spur the staff to greater heights and by
extension, increase service delivery to the FCT residents,” he said.
There were 1, 892 senior staff and 309 junior staff promotions in total.
This
announcement came less than three months after the FCTA staged a
peaceful protest about the delay in promotions and salary issues.
